With all eyes on the island for the LOST series finale last night, how could I have forgotten to stop and blog my thoughts on the show coming to an end?? Oh. Because I stopped watching after the 4th season. That's how. It's not that I lost interest, I just remember my DVR becoming overwhelmed and I had to make some critical choices. Reading about the show this season with the Flash-Sideways, I can't help but wonder if it would be completely over my head anyway. When shows require me to endure too much critical thinking, it's no longer an enjoyment for me. (What? John Locke is the smoke monster??) I imagine that I will watch the final two seasons on DVD at some point, but the point of this little blog is for me to throw out my favorite series finales. BEVERLY HILLS, 90210: Ten years of my life... the show that lives in my soul. (I tend to get a little dramatic when it comes to my Zip Code.) The wedding of Donna Martin and David Silver, the return of Valerie Malone... brilliant. (I don't count BH, 90210 as a favorite show, because it was more than a show to me. So I can't count it as my favorite finale, either.) The final two hours of Dawson's Creek turn me into a pile of emotional leftovers no matter how many times I see it. The final 9 minutes of the end of Roseanne gives me chills to this day. I just watched it again, doing my research. (And I didn't really do it for research, I was just thinking about it and wanted to watch it again. Serious bloggers do research, and I was pretending to be serious for 2 seconds.) Can we discuss the Will & Grace series finale? No?? Good. Because I have a bag of mixed emotions for that one. "Don't get me started. Don't even get me started." The original Melrose Place left my life after 7 seasons, only to return 10 years later. And then I had to watch it get canceled all over again. (I know. Tsunami. I get it.) I think my blogs have ADD, and I promise I don't mean that in a negative way that might hurt someone's feelings.) Oh well... at least one of us is still lost.
why do I have a random picture of Heather Locklear as Amanda Woodward from Melrose Place 2?? Because in my Melrose blog post, I had planned to post it- before my attention was drawn to the tsunami special. So, here she is, in all her canceled glory:
curious of the thoughts on will and grace because I quite enjoyed that finale. But i had stopped watching the show prior to that and watched the finale in rerun so maybe thats why i like it so.

ReplyDeleteI sort of live the W&G lifestyle in a parallel universe (the kind that's in Kansas and not NY)... having my own personal Grace, I know that there is absolutely no way we would drift apart for such a length of time. The entire series was based on the relationship of Will & Grace, and I thought that was a pretty crappy way to end such a brilliant show. I will say though, I revisited the finale a few years later, and I wasn't as disappointed. I just kicked myself because I forgot to mention the BUFFY series finale... Sunnydale caving into the Hellmouth? *snaps*
